Territory Wars rules

Goal

Hold more of the arena than your rivals by the time the clock runs out or only one player is left. From 2 to 10 players share the same arena at once.

Movement

Your character keeps moving on its own — you just steer it smoothly with the mouse, a finger on the screen, or the A/D keys. There are no snap turns: every change of direction happens along a gentle arc.

Trail & capture

Inside your own territory nothing trails behind you, so you can loop and turn freely. The moment you leave it, a vulnerable trail starts following you. Close the loop and make it back onto your territory, and everything the loop enclosed is painted your colour for good.

Death

If anyone — a rival or you yourself — crosses your trail, you are eliminated on the spot. The rim of the arena, on the other hand, is safe: it is a wall you simply cannot cross. A player who dies loses all their territory, which turns free again.

End of the match

The match lasts 6 to 12 minutes depending on the arena size (small 6, medium 9, large 12), or until only one player is left. Whoever holds the most territory wins; a tie is a shared win.

Tips

  • Don't stray far from your territory for long — the longer your trail, the easier it is to cut.
  • Come home in short loops: a small safe capture beats a huge risky one.
  • Keep rivals' trails in the corner of your eye — crossing one is often easier than it looks.
  • Mind the rim: it will not kill you, but pinned against the wall you just slide along it and close no loops.
